If you live in Austin and you're not paying attention to the sandwich scene, you're missing out. We scoured the city and found seven spots earning consistently high marks — here's what's worth your time.

Little Deli & Pizzeria (Woodrow Ave, North Loop) is arguably the city's most beloved sandwich institution. With over 2,400 Google reviews and a 4.8-star rating, regulars swear by the pastrami and Italian sub. It's a neighborhood spot with serious East Coast deli energy, and the fact that it's cash-friendly and family-packed on weekends tells you everything you need to know.

Meat & Bread (Downtown, Nueces St) brings a more upscale take to the sandwich game. Their Porchetta is the thing to order — slow-roasted, rich, and served on bread that reviewers consistently call out as exceptional. They also do a Buffalo Chicken and an Eggplant Parm that have earned devoted followings.

Otherside Deli (near UT, W 34th St) is pulling off something special. Reviewers are calling their Italian sandwich one of the best in the city — maybe the world, according to one very passionate customer. The Rowdy Roddy is another must-try, and the portions are generous enough that you'll feel the value.

Deep End Subs (Airport Blvd) is a food truck running an online-order-only model, which keeps things efficient and the food consistently great. Their Banh Mi is the standout, though the Chicken Bacon Ranch on challah bread has its own devoted fanbase. Get there early — things sell out.

FoodHeads (W 34th St) has been a neighborhood staple for years. The Chicken & Eggplant sandwich is the crowd favorite, and the cozy outdoor seating makes it a perfect weekend lunch stop. They're also a go-to for office catering across the city.

New World Deli (Hyde Park, Guadalupe St) has the vibe of an old-school East Coast deli with live music on top. Over 1,000 reviews and a menu ranked by popularity makes ordering easy — the corned beef Reuben is the move.

SPREAD & CO. (Manor Rd, Cherrywood) leans more cafe than deli, but their mortadella and charcuterie-style sandwiches are worth seeking out. Open early at 7 AM on weekdays, making it the best option when you need a serious sandwich before noon.
