In 2026, Cedar Park's city-run holiday events all fall between Wednesday, December 2, and Saturday, December 12. That's five events in eleven days, spread across three locations, and the biggest weekend now happens at Lakeline Park. The H-E-B Center's ticketed holiday shows run from mid-November to Christmas Eve, and the Bell District starts the season even earlier with a new makers market. If you plan December around the Heritage Oak tree lighting alone, you'll miss how the calendar has been rearranged.
Heritage Oak moved to a Wednesday
The change started last year. The city's 2025 listing for the Heritage Oak Tree Lighting explained that the event would take place on Wednesday, December 3, "to make room for more holiday fun at our newest event - A Jolly Bright Lakeline Night." In practice, Cedar Park's best-known holiday tradition became a weeknight opener, and the newer event at a different park took Friday night.
Last year's listing describes lighting Cedar Park's largest live oak with more than 50,000 lights, with holiday music and photos with Santa under the tree. So far, the 2026 entry on the city calendar gives only the date and time: Wednesday, December 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. That's one day earlier on the calendar than last year, and still on a Wednesday.
Heritage gets a second evening on Saturday, December 5, when Photos with Santa runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Both 2026 entries list the location only as "Heritage," which the 2025 listing identified as Heritage Oak Park.
The same Saturday starts at breakfast
December 5 is also the date for Breakfast with Santa at the Recreation Center, 1435 Main St. The 2026 city entry says "All Day" and hasn't posted session times yet. Last year's event ran two sessions for children ages 2 to 5 and their parents or guardians, with a catered breakfast, a library storytime, Santa photos and an ornament to take home. The 2023 edition required an advance ticket for every attendee, so check the city's 2026 listing for pricing and registration before you plan around it.
With both events on the same date, a family with small children can do breakfast on Main Street in the morning and Santa photos at Heritage that evening.
Lakeline Park gets back-to-back nights
Lakeline Park, at 1510 Alexis Dr., now hosts two events in a row.
Friday, December 11: A Jolly, Bright, Lakeline Night, 6:30 to 9 p.m. This is the event the tree lighting moved to make room for. When it debuted in 2025, Community Impact reported that it brought back familiar pieces of the 2024 tree lighting, including Santa photos and a snow hill. The same outlet listed the Big Night Vintage Blues and Jazz Band, a holiday market, food and drink vendors, and free admission.
Saturday, December 12: Tail of Lights, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This one is for dogs. In 2025 the city described a decorated path to walk, "Santa Paws" photos for dogs dressed in holiday outfits, pet-friendly vendors and "yappy hour" treats. Community Impact added giveaways and a costume contest.
The 2026 listings have dates and times but no event descriptions yet, so use last year's format as a preview. Both are scheduled as single evenings.
The H-E-B Center fills the weeks around the city events
The city's events last eleven days. The H-E-B Center schedule runs about five weeks, and none of its holiday dates fall on a city event night.
| Date | Event at H-E-B Center | Start |
|---|---|---|
| Wed, Nov. 18 | Derek Hough: Dance for the Holidays | 8 p.m. |
| Tue, Nov. 24 | Texas Stars vs. Tucson Roadrunners, Winter Wonderland presented by H-E-B | 7 p.m. |
| Wed, Nov. 25 | Texas Stars vs. Tucson Roadrunners, Winter Wonderland presented by H-E-B | 7 p.m. |
| Fri, Dec. 4 | for KING + COUNTRY: A Drummer Boy Christmas | 7 p.m. |
| Sun, Dec. 20 | A Very Merry Symphony featuring the Austin Symphony Orchestra | 7 p.m. |
| Thu, Dec. 24 | Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland | 2 p.m. |
The December 20 concert is the one that's new for Cedar Park. According to the venue's event page, it will be the first time the Austin Symphony Orchestra brings its full orchestra to the city. Before this, hearing the full symphony play holiday music meant driving into Austin. This year it's on the same Sunday night calendar as everything else in town.
Some practical notes. The for KING + COUNTRY page offers $5 off per ticket for groups of 10 or more, which helps if you're organizing a church group, a team or a few families together. Cirque Musica's page calls it an all-new holiday show and lists VIP options at $176.50 or as a $50 add-on. Its 2 p.m. Christmas Eve start also leaves the evening free. The two Texas Stars games are the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving, so they work for hosting out-of-town family who arrive early.
The Bell District opens the season first
The earliest holiday date on the local calendar is in the Bell District. The Cedar Park Holiday Makers Market runs Sunday, November 15, from noon to 5 p.m. at The Backyard, 431 Pecan Wood Dr., and admission is free, according to Visit Cedar Park.
The listing calls it "Cedar Park's newest holiday shopping destination." Botanical Makers Market presents it in partnership with the Parks and Trails Foundation of Cedar Park. Vendors will sell natural, sustainable and handmade goods, including botanical skincare, candles, jewelry and ceramics. Free DIY stations let you wrap gifts and make an air-dry clay ornament. Part of the proceeds goes to the Parks and Trails Foundation. That means some of the money spent at the Bell District in November supports the city's parks system, which includes the parks hosting the December events.
The weekend before, the Cedar Park Public Library's all-ages DINO-vember Matinee Family Movie plays Saturday, November 14, from 2 to 3:15 p.m. in the library's Event Space. Put it together with the market and you have a full mid-November weekend before the holiday crowds start.
